Tea rationing

It might be hard to believe but on 5 October 1952 tea rationing ended in the UK.

A buying rush was not anticipated as the ration had already reached the pre-war consumption level of just three ounces per week.

The amount of tea people could use had been restricted since January 1940, due to World War 2.
