The Cullinan diamond is the largest diamond in the world.
It was discovered in the diamond mine in South Africa that belonged to Sir Thomas Cullinan. When it was found it was 12cm by 6cm by 5cms in size, it was gifted to the King of Great Britain’s, who was Edward VII at the time.
The diamond was cut down and was fitted into the King’s Sceptre and another in his crown.
They are both part of the British Crown Jewels.
