Register to vote at your current address, as lenders will look at the electoral roll to check you are who you say you are.

Close any credit accounts that you no longer use and ensure that you pay your bills on time and regularly.

Whenever you apply for any credit, lenders will look at your credit report to work out your credit score and decide how well you cope with your current finances before providing you with any further credit.

Whatever you do, Do not miss regular repayments as this will be shown on your credit report for at least three years and may work against you.

When you complete any application form, make sure your answers are accurate, and a guesstimate might make the lender think you are lying and decline your application.

So be careful, it’s not so easy to receive credit from legitimate companies.
