The Day of the Dead

The day of the dead is a tradition which is held in Mexico on the 1st and 2nd of November.

Mexican people build altars in their homes and cover them with pictures and possessions of their dead relatives in an attempt to guide their loved one home.

Basically it is a celebration of relatives whom have died, but still live on in the memory.  People believe that on the ‘Day of the Dead’ it is easier for souls of the departed to visit the living.
