What is the Aurora Borealis?

It’s the official name for the Norther Lights.

They form a coloured glow of light in the shape of an arch whose apex points in the direction of the magnetic North.

Sadly, they are only ever be seen in the Northern Hemisphere.

The colours can vary from red to smoky black and green and they are caused by an electrical discharge.
