What was a Viking saga?

A viking saga was a story that was told to honour those heroes that had died in a battle and also about the different ‘Gods’ they believed in.

The saga was told to ensure that the heroes names and fame were never forgotten. These sagas were told from generation to generation by word of mouth.

Apart from story-telling vikings also enjoyed music, dancing, clowns and jugglers which the king would hire to entertain his guests at various feasts.
