The average height of a man in the United States is 5ft 9 inches, while the average height of a woman is 5 feet 4 inches.

Residents of America are taller now than what they were 100 years ago, but they are no longer the tallest people in the world.  The Swedish people average about half an inch taller, whilst the Dutch and Norwegians are a full inch taller than the Americans.

The tallest man in the world was however, an American from Illinois, named Robert Pershing Wadlow. He was just slightly over 8 feet 11 inches tall!

A man named Chang was the tallest man in England, measuring just over 8 feet tall, he adapted his home with raised tables and larger doors and specially made higher windows.
